Kiwayu is a semi-arid island made up of rolling sand dunes that are covered in Tortilis trees, coconut palms and other bush scrub. On the ocean side there is a 5 kilometre long white beach that is uninhabited by anyone else. Both the creek side and the beach side of the island have amazing marine life – being a marine reserve and thus not over fished by the local fishermen.
