Visa requirements:

  5. 2 passport size photos
  6. It takes 4 to 5  working days to process
  7. A single-entry visa is valid for 3 months from when you acquire it, and allows you a 1 month stay in the country.

ABU SIMBEL ADD-ON (Ex-Aswan)

In Abu Simbel, visit the Temple of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari and the colossal statues, which the pharaoh built to announce the ‘start of civilization'.

ALEXANDRIA

Take a full day trip to Alexandria , the shinning pearl of the Mediterranean , and the beckon radiating its deep-rooted culture and heritage to the world at large. Visit the Mosques, the Roman Amphitheater and most important, Port Quaitbay, which is now a naval museum.

MEMPHIS & SAKKARA TOUR

Half day tour. Memphis was the first capital of ancient Egypt and contains a colossal statue of King Ramses II as well as the famous Alabaster Sphinx. A short drive away lies the Necropolis of Saqqara, where the ruins of the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first pyramid ever built, still stands.

MOONLIGHT CRUISING: On board a cruising restaurant (dinner included)

After a day of sightseeing, dinning on the Nile is a delightful way to spend your evening. Cruising restaurants offer sumptuous buffets and great entertainment, not to mention the beautiful scenic shores of the Nile.

SOUND & LIGHT SHOW

This takes place in the evening at the Pyramids of Giza, and is one of the finest performances of its kind to be found anywhere in the world. The history of the Great Pharaohs of the 18 th & 19 th dynasties is related with the aid of special sound and light effects.

The best time to visit Egypt is October through May. Temperatures vary between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The nights will be cool but most days are still sunny.

December through February aren't the best times for swimming in the Mediterranean though, it gets quite cold and rainy. Watch out for dust storms from March until May.

Travel tips Egypt

• Ensure you are not deceived by the many guides lingering around to take you on tours; instead consult a suitable travel agent

• There is plenty of history to be explored. arm yourself with reading and writing materials.

•  The tourist scene is very vibrant so book well in advance

• Confirm the weather before travel so as to pack suitably

•  The official currency of Egypt is the Egyptian Pound ( guinay in Arabic). 100 piastres (girsh in Arabic) make 1 pound.

•  Banks, American Express, and Thomas Cook offices will readily exchange your traveler checks or cash.

•  ATM cards can also be used in major cities, as can Visa and MasterCard's.

•  If you plan to travel off the beaten track, always make sure you have enough local currency with you.

•  The maximum amount of Egyptian currency that can be brought in or taken out of Egypt is 1,000 Egyptian pounds.

•  If you don't mind swampy temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and want to save a little money, visit Egypt in the summer.

•  Loose, light cotton clothing is absolutely essential especially if you are traveling in the summer.

•  It is a good idea to bring a water bottle with you, sunglasses and eye drops for the dust when visiting the temples and pyramids.

•  Egypt is a Muslim country, please dress conservatively. When visiting churches and mosques men should not wear shorts and women should not wear shorts, mini-skirts or tank tops.

•  It is inadvisable for women to wear anything short or sleeveless unless on the beach or by a pool.
